As far as I'm aware it looks ok. I Like the Titan's as well. They are a good unit. One day I'll upgrade to a 3rd but I'm going to need a new MO for a 3rd. Cause phyisically its not possible to put another card into another slot as there isnt enough room. The cards are large. So, while I may have 4 slots. Installing 1, takes up 2 slots. The second one is big too. So all 4 slots are either used, or blocked by the card it's self. Making it impossible to install a 3rd. The X-99A is a great M.B. otherwise. Shes treated me well.

Back on topic.... Should I run the risk of updating my driver again? :/

As for the PSU, I ran into a problem with my GPU cluster where a 1375w PSU couldn't power my Titan Z and a 980, and wound up killing two identical PSUs. Turned out I wasn't exceeding the wattage, but the 12v rail capability.

Yeah, good point. It's probably a good idea to check the NVIDIA specs (attached) for your GPU's power requirements before buying a power supply. That way you don't kill your power supplies. Apparently, according to the specs on the NVIDIA website, the Titan Z requires a 42 amp, 12v rail.

Which driver do you have installed now? And is Daz Studio working with both cards?

If DS is working then I’d say leave it as it is. Otherwise, download a driver direct from nvidia and install that.

That's the beauty of external GPU setups - they're external, so the only slot being taken up in the case is the one for the interface card, which is the thickness of the actual PCI slot (the plastic part). It might have to go in at a very slight angle, but it should fit. I've got a TItan XP in one slot, a 1080ti in the other, and there's just enough room to squeeze the Thunderbolt card into the last slot.

Titan Zs are the triple-wides. If it's in the first slot, then you can squeeze a 1080ti into the 3rd slot (on the Z97 anyway) but there's no putting the Titan Z in Slot 2. It ends up fan-to-fan with the internal PSU, and no way is the TB card going in. Slot 3 is a total no-go for the TZ.

I haven't tried daisy-chaining 2 external Thunderbolted GPUs yet, so I don't know if that'll work as well as a backplane. I know the second connection is more or less a pass-through, not so much a stacked deal, so it should be on the same level as far as the system is concerned.

And yeah, like Reaper said: if it's running, then the driver's fine. I'd look into the release notes for new drivers to see if they specifically mention anything to do with Iray before updating, and look into the release notes for D|S to see if they mention anything specific to GPU usage and driver updates. I'm still running 387.92, and everything's A-OK. D-Force works fine, Iray works fine, Skyrim SE and Fallout 4 run fine, that's all I need.

I updated the drivers.. So far so good. I dont know what happened. I was having a mouse problem so I went into windows device manager and scanned for errors. found nothing on my mouse, but found errors in my GTX's (Probably because I took the SLI Adapter out as you guys suggested.) then about 30 minutes later I come back and they are both Error Code 43. =/

I dont see why they would have errors though. They both work like a charm, alone....

At any rate they are both working. I'm not going to screw with it again. I have this feeling that my SLI Bridge is a POS.

    Interesting. Maybe this?
