Just an example - If I bought a set of clothes can I use them with my own denim textures to turn them into jeans set (or vice cersa)?

you can retexture and use for your images as much as you want, you can't resell with your own textures
To qualify on that. You can't resell your item of clothing once you have retextured it, but if you did want to sell or giveaway your texture set that is allowed. But only the new texture set, nothing of what was in the original package you bought can be re-distributed.
You should even find that on you product Library, in your account Dashboard, you will find a template (UV Map) to help you maje your own textures.
As "resell" in this case it is understood reselling as model with textures, right? But I should be able to use for commercial purposes renders made with the model and my textures?
That's correct;)
As I said above you can sell the new texture set, but not the original model. You can also sell renders made with the model.
Nice, thanks. Just to clarify for myself - the difference between a merchant resourse and "not-merchant" resourse is I can sell the models (textures etc) from the merchant resourse too?
Edit: While I am in asking mode, one more questions please - about the Interactive License. I see indie games made with PPG Maker VX (for example) and rendered animations. This is not considered "interactive" as the game does not use directly the 3D models, right?
A merchant resource is designed for a vendor to use to aid them in preparing a new texture. It cannot be re-distributed as it is, it needs to have a percentage of moderation done to it. Most MRs will state how much moderation needs to be done. And again it is only the textures (or sometimes morphs). as merchant resorces are mainly for textures. Most also have a bar on them being used and then redistributed as Freebies, It has to be actual Commercial products they are used for.
The interactive licenses do have their own EULA. https://www.daz3d.com/interactive-license-info
Does this give you enough information?
Merchant resources vary slightly, but often require the original textures to be altered; the term I often see is: "Make it your own." Or words to that effect.
Merchant resources also do NOT usually allow freebies with their products, but you should check individual products to be sure.
Ok, I grasped but now I have technical problem. I replaced the default texture with my own texture and as saved it as Material preset. But when I try load it back the human body disappears and as I just get a msg for error. And after I changed the textures with my own textures and close the program, next time I load the same model and the same clothing it again loads the default textures.
I'm wondering if this may be a problem with where you are storing your textures? When I use new/modified textures, I have them stored in the Runtime folder under a name different than the original. My DAZ3D folder is loaded to my SSD drive which is G not C - so I will have trouble with LIE textures going to the Temp folder and disappearing after I exit and reopen Daz Studio. This is why I created my own Runtime folder (pretending I'm a PA) and keep the textures there.
You don't have to store the textures and preset under the standard folder, but @dracorn has a point in reagrds to that the path that you store it in has to be known to DAZ Studio. Is that the case?
My patch is correct on D:\ - but just right now I understood in this case I need to use the option Merge:-)
Case solved, thanks.
OMG. I can't believe I never saw that. I've been doing it the hard way all this time.
