Do you still have to split your rigged items to joint it?

10 years ago you had to split items to joint them. Jointing, now called Rigging, was rather cumbersome and would often leave an area of the mesh ripped for some reason, although the section exactly matched up with the next section.(I had a prop do this very thing)  So, do I still have to split them up or will Daz read vertex groups now?

  • DS has always read vertex groups, and still does. In fact for weight-mapped rigging it doesn't need groups, though they are certainly more convenient.
