Is there a way to stop rendering other than closing daz

Ok, sometimes render gets some error (mostly 3delight maybe one time in iray) and it stops, well not really stops. It stop rendering but not doing something. Is there a way to stop this process. If i have been stupid and forget to make save before test render and now of course i lose all the work i have done.

An option for autosaving the scene first when you start rendering might be a good idea.

There should be a file called r.png in the Daz Studio temporary directory which is the current render - but it will be cleared out when DS closes.

I have beena ble to close a run-away render through Task Manager, at least to the point of being able to cleanly exit DS (the renderer was still busy in the background).

There is a small app here (windows only) which can prevent that:

That autosave sound like something i should try, but there should also be a stop button. Button that stops everything daz is doing at the moment or reset button. Sometimes i get that blue circle on mouse (and cant do anything), that tells me daz is doing something and there is absolutely nothing that it should be doing at the moment. Scene might be very light, just one character, i'm still adjusting skin settings. Mayby it's that feature that updates scene (loading thingy down right corner) it doesnt like if i move too fast.

I guess I should ask the easy question first, just to make sure. Did you hit the x button in the upper right corner of the render window, the cancel button in the bottom right, or minimize the render window and hit cancel on the little progress bar dialog? The first two should give you a dialog box that ask if you're sure to want to stop. If the first one works your render should be in the temp directory, like @SimonJM said. If the second two work, your render should stop, but still be present on screen.

If none of those work, try grabbing that file out of the temp directory if you can before killing Daz. If you've done those and the don't work, I'm out. Maybe there's a "working" scene file in one of the temporary directories yo can grab that would let you save your setup, but I'm not near a daz equipped computer right now to make sure

That sounds like smoothing to me. Have you got smoothing on and is it in interactive mode?

LosingSignal no i haven't stopped rendering my self, it is stopping itself and i get error message and i just push ok (thats in 3delight). Well maybe it's not that bad proplem, i just have to remember save before test render. Stop or reset button would be nice though.

marble Not sure, could be, it can be fixed if i slow down my forkflow,  reset button would fix this proplem also, is would stop trying if it is in lag mode and then try again.

i'm probably a noob and most of my problems come naturally from there :) , but does any of you get that blue circle on a mouse and when it happens, hope that there would be reset button.
