How to add volumetric light to an HDRI in IRAY

Can someone explain to me how to add volumetric lighting to an HDRI in Iray? As an example of what I want to get attached the Willow Creek main promo from Stonemason. I mean, I have the light that comes from the HDRI and now I want to create the sun beams. Thanks!
