Content Manager Formats Question

After adding a new path to the Daz Formats (or Poser), in Content Manager, is it safe to remove it, using the Remove Base Directory command?

I added an individual product to the list, to get it running.  But when I wish to remove it, I don't wish to experience any Content problems.
