AniMate2 not working?

Today I decided to finally buy AniMate2 (even if I'm pretty sure I'll use it very few times)... But there's something wrong!

After registering, the interface doesn't change! I copy-pasted the code from my account directly on DAZ. It is active, as the green plug indicates, but I can't see any change in the interface or animation bahaviour.

It wasn't supposed to add some buttons on it? Where is the new interpolation? crying

I hope someone could tell me what I did wrong.

The lock is green so it's registered and you have the same buttons i do. I think it mostly increases the ability to edit using the Timeline, saving edits, and such things. If GraphMate & Keymate are on sale really cheap then go for those too, even if as you say you won't use them that much.

I use KeyMate and GraphMate intensevely, I do only animations. wink

I was mainly interested in the new cubic interpolation but I can't find a way to use it. The Go!Animated website showed a totally different interface with the chance to use the new interpolation...

The multi-audio blocks are useful too... But I guess I wouldn't use it for much more, I don't use Aniblock, all my animations are hand-made.

What is Go!Animated and how does it relate to AniMate2?

You are right, it's Go!Figure, not Go!Animate... blush The producer's website.

Still I need to know how to fully unlock the plugin.

    *EDIT*

This is where they brag about it, but I can't see that stuff nor I can apply the new interpolation from KeyMate or GraphMate...

    You have unlocked it.

Your serial number is https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/serialnumbers to be entered in the aniMate2 Serial number slot in Help - About Installed plugins...

Maybe you haven't restarted DAZ Stdio since activating the plugin (although the lock should be amber in that case).

As you said, the plug wouldn't be green if I haven't restarted DAZ Studio!wink

The plugin seems to be activated, but I can't use it fully...

Animate2 works just as shown in the linked video for me. The "cubic interpolation" is just the curve between the three keyframes when you drag the middle keyframe. Instead of making a sharp V between the three keyframes, it applies a cubic curve fit between them to make a smooth curve.

Yes, it also works just as illustrated in the video for me too. Remember you must go into keyframe mode for an individual aniBlock to get the cubic interpolation graph mode available.

    (ಠ_ಠ)

Ok... I'll say this again: the plugin looks unlocked, but I can't use the graphs in AniMate2, it doesn't work. I click, double click and right click everywhere but the plugin doesn't switch in "block mode" where I should manupulate the animations.

Also, this evening it started giving me the new interpolation instead of the overshooting one, totally out of the blue. When I checked GraphMate, the interpolation got a nice EasyInEasyOut interpolation but keyframes where totally messed up! I tried moving one of them and the line broke and the keyframe disappeared. The undo didn't brought it back.

Closing DAZ Studio and restarting fixed everyrhing, the old overshooting TBC was back at its place.

Now, I'm doing something wrong or the plugin is simply brojen for me?

I guess I'd just suggest watching the video again very slowly, step by step, while following along in Animate2. Make sure you have an aniblock to work with (select your object and create a new aniblock). Then switch to keyframe mode as in the video.

  • Looks like this never was successfully solved. I'm having issues with my fully purchased Animate 2 as well. The gofigue.com website appears out-of-commission. So I guess Animat 2 is a dead letter now.
