Virtually unable to render iray scenes

Hello everyone,

Lately I have been having quite a lot of problems with getting Iray renders to work. Even very simple scenes render extremely slowly, or worse switch to CPU mode. In this case I mean renders such as a floor, two walls, using the Promo Style Catch Lights for Iray, a single chair and two genesis 3 male characters. With simple clothes (bad boy outfit) it already overflowed my GPU memory and switched to CPU. I have a GTX 1070 and a GTX 950. It's understandable that perhaps the 950 can't handle it, but the 1070 should easily be able to render such simple scenes right?

Anyone know why this is happening? The problem persists after closing and reopening Daz.

    You will probably need to post your log file for a real diagnosis. The description is too vague for me to list a specific reason for your problem. The log will detail the complexity of the the scene, memory allocations, render cards used, failures, etc. I'm sure someone will be able to help with that information.

    Something odd is going on with your 750Ti - it fails due to memory, then it tries again, fails again, and after that the 1070 also fails. Try doing a render without enabling the 750 - uncheck it in the Advanced tab of Render Settings - and see how that goes. If it still fails please post the log from that session.

    Hi, thanks so much, that actually did work. I guess I'll just have to settle for rendering without the 750 from now on. Oddly enough significantly faster in terms of iterations without it as well now.

    Iray will throttle the faster card to match the slower one.
