Problem with Cain for G3M & G8M

I'm not sure if this is a personal problem or if anyone else might have noticed any issues after installing Cain. I will most likely be contacting CS but throwing this out there for anyone who has purchased this great looking character. After installing him this morning I immediately started noticing issues with some of my characters. After some investigating, I found that Cain appears to be loading into every G3M character, new character or saved character. Teeth are horribly distorted and the face/nose/chin looks flattened and eyes abnormally enlarged. When I loaded him, he looked fine. Another thing, I looked into the Current Morphs list and he doesn't show as loaded in. But I wasn't having any problems earlier this morning before I purchased him. I just uninstalled him and THANKFULLY the issue went away. I could return him and ask for store credit, but I really like how he looks.

This seems to be happening more often as of late. There are a few posts that have been created about the same issue with different characters.
My impression is (IIRC), virtually all of those issues have been created by PAs with one of the following characteristics: 1) new PAs, 2) experienced PAs that don't normally make characters, or 3) PAs that normally make POSER characters, but generally don't make Studio specific characters.
So, buyer beware.
You are forgetting the most important cause....DAZ QnA. They really should be catching most of these. It's why I don't tinker with forum temp fixes and such, I want to know when I d/l and install from DAZ that there are no issues and since I don't use DIM I never know of updates unless I go looking for them.
Yes, there is a problem with this character affecting others. I was disappointed to find that my G8M Base character now loads with the Cain character morph which I have to now dial out before I can use it.
This character is just one morph rather than a separate head and body morph, also I'm disappointed with the textures ie the navel is just a grey smudge!
I like the character morph which has prevented me at the moment returning this product, (but that makes it an expensive character morph) and will be more wary in future. Why are these not tested by the PA and Daz before release?
I will now look to see how this is affecting my G3M characters as mentioned in your post.
Really ??? It's not what the product description told.

What's Included and Features
I'm almost certain I had seperate head and body morphs for the G3 Cain. But I could be wrong. I should have looked at the G8 version...admittedly I didn't even think to do so. I purchased him primarily for the G3 version.
I'll be submitting a help ticket this evening when I get home. I really like how the character looks and would rather not return him. But yeah, a similar issue happened with RawArt's Prince Albane 2. I can't use him. He really messed up my G3 characters. :-\
Two questions: will you guys post when the problem gets solved, so others know it's safe to buy Cain?
Also, is he an adult character, and if so, does he come with anatomical element textures? I really can't tell from the product description.
It's a full character with mats:
BUT according to the file list it doesn't have any gen mats, and it doesn't say anythin about a head morph: http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/53169/file_list
(If you have X-Morph, you could of course simply split up the morph.)
As far as I'm aware he's classed as an adult character, but no anatomical textures are included.
Have you reported the problem to Customer Support? They should have the PA fix it.
Thanks for the info!
I have just submitted a help ticket. Hopefully a fix will be underway soon, and yes, I will post when a fix has been made.
I went back and double checked. The Cain character folder has two options: Cain shape, which applies the head and body morph together, and a preset labeled Cain which loads a complete new Cain character.
All the G3M and G8M characters are now infected with the Cain morph at 100% upon loading. So to use a character in its original form, the Cain morph has to be dialed out first.
There is no separate Cain head or body slider in the shaping section, so a seperate percentage of his head or body morph cannot be dialed into other characters gene pool. I therefore think there is a mistake in the product description.
I too thought he has an interesting shape, with what from the promo pictures appearsto be a nice skin texture
I'm a little disapointed that his navel is nothing but a grey smudge
and to be honest he comes with a very limited set of options even for the $13.27 promotional price
I too hope separate head and body morphs are included which allow dialling in
I wil not be purchasing him until I know the problems are fixed, so I hope DAZ make an effort to let future customers know when he is 'updated'
perhaps add an 'updated' comment on his sales page
of course if the character isn't fixed before the promotional introduction price ends then I shall have to wait until it is again discounted
I also noticed since installing Cain the facial structures on my models have been affected, and once unistalled, the faces reverted back to they way they were when I saved them.
I just got an email from support that says the problems have been resolved. I can'tell verify it until to,orrow when I see if there is a new update.
GlenWebb - I am sorry you are having issues with Cain. I had independent testers test this product and these issues were not found. Cain also passed thru DAZ testing and did not have these issues. I do not have these issues when I load him either. Something must have went wrong within the installation file that DAZ created for the product. I will be reaching out to DAZ to get to the bottom of these issues, if they have not already rectified them. Please feel confident in the fact that I am now aware of the issues and I will do everything I can to get them resolved. Thank you for sharing. Please do not return the product as there WILL be a resolve. Thank you, ImagineX (Brian Loukatos)

BeeMKay - Cain does include a seperate head morph AND body morph. Something went wrong with the installation files if you don't see them. I am reaching out to DAZ to find out what went wrong.
fastbike1 - I am certainly NOT a new PA, I have done characters and I create them for DS NOT Poser. The issues people are experiencing are directly due to DAZ's installation files. These issues were not encountered by DAZ testers or the independent testers I hired to test Cain PRIOR to submitting him to DAZ. I am reaching out to DAZ to resolve these issues as it makes me look bad. My product did NOT have these issues when submitted.

Wildman oS - Cain includes features that most all other characters include with the exception of genitalia. The problems others are encountering WILL be resolved (if they haven't already). I can update you when I know they have been resolved if you would like.
musicplayer - Cain absolutely DOES include seperate head and body morph sliders and most certainly CAN be dialed in a little at a time to add to other characters. Something went wrong with the installation file creation. Please read my responses to others having this issue. I am reaching out to DAZ to resolve the issues.

deleted...wow it really got funky
Hey, ImagineX/Brian, I submitted a help ticket to Daz a couple of days ago. I have heard from CS once, so I'm sure the issues are being looked at and will be corrected. I will assume others have submitted tickets to, so at least Daz is aware of the problem. I'm most certainly not returning the product. In the almost 20 years I've been a customer, I've only had to return a product once. I don't think this is a repeat situation. I really like how Cain looks...he's a unique looking fellow and I'm sorry there have been issues with him. I'm actually glad I quickly found out I was having issues instead of going into panic mode trying to figure out what was going on.
Cheers!
Good evening, ladies and gents. I just happened to check DIM a few minutes ago and saw the Cain package/readme had been updated. I installed him and no problems. Yay! Thank you very much Daz and ImagineX for looking into the issue.
Woohoo! Way to go ImagineX and DAZ!
Today I purchased Cain and installed it with DIM, the Head Morph dial is still missing.
I retried with Daz Connect, it's still missing.
Package date: June 07, 2018
I originally mentioned this to the PA and was told there was definitely a seperate head morph (see my earlier post) but the update didn't produce a separate head morph. This still needs fixing.
