Cr2 Exporter is not working correctly for Genesis 3 Figures

faisanfaisan Posts: 600

Hi guys!

I want to export Genesis 3 Figures and Clothes into Poser Pro 2014/11 through the Cr2 Exporter and it's not working correctly. The Figures and Clothes aren't been exported complete. At the begining I though it was a Poser problem, but when I tried to load the Genesis 3 Exported Figure and Cloth into Daz again, it kept loading not completed, like I show in the pictures attached. I have to say I don't have this problem when I export Genesis 1 and 2 Figures to Poser using the Cr2 Exporter. I have to say too, I got to export the Genesis 3 Figures and Clothes into Poser correctly by the DSON method, and finally I have to say some years ago, I got to export the Genesis 3 Figures and Clothes to Poser successfully using the Cr2 Exporter, but my pc crashed and when I reinstall Poser and Daz again I got this issue.

I don't know if I need a Plugin, Add On, or something similar in order to Genesis 3 Figures and Clothes can be exported succesfully into Poser using the Cr2 Exporter. Please let me know if that's the cause I'm having this problem and how can I solve it. I hope you can help me guys. Kind Greetings.

Genesis 3 and 8 are not suported in Poser anyway, though there are workarounds. DS cannot read weight-mapped figures from a CR2.

But in the 2016 year, I got to do it succesfully by the Cr2 Exporter (I still have the files) that's why I know it's possible, at least for Genesis 3 Figures.

There is the poser format exporter tool (PFE) that you may have had on the old PC. I think it's for poses and expressions, but perhaps that was related to how you exported it. If you own it, it should still be in your product library.

The other option may be that your old PC had an older version of DS, and the newest version no longer exports Cr2s in the same way. You would have to request the older version from DAZ support if that's the case.

    --ms

ETA: it looks like PFE only exports shaping info. sorry. There's this utility that might help (found in a nearby thread: PP2 exporter: There's a DS4 version by mjcasual: https://sites.google.com/site/mcasualsdazscripts5/pp2exporterds4)

And there was also mention to be sure and only select the desired figure when exporting with the DS CR2 export option.

I think people have been able to export an approximation to the figures by converting to General Weightmaps, or at least switching the skin binding - one of the Edit>Figure>Rigging options as I recall.

In fact, I have installed the PFE but it's just for Poses, Faces and Hands, not for Figures. The DS Version sounds interesting, but I couldn't download it, at least for me, the download button doesn't appear. :(

I tried it, but it didn't work :(

Could you try it by yourself please? I mean try to export a Genesis 3 Figure and Cloth to Poser using the Cr2 Exporter in order to know if the problem is general or only mine, could you please?

    Hi
May I suggest you visit the long running thread on the renderosity poser forum , about a FREE  poser based utility to get Genesis 3 into poser.
The official Daz Cr2 Export of Genesis figures ended with Genesis 2.
you will get no more  official help from this side of things on this Matter
You are engaging in a pointless excercise here  that will only result in frustration and time wasted.

The Poser community has solved this problem for themselves with the free utility by user "WillDial"

    Go have a look wink
