spot rendering in real time?

1. I need to activate the spot rendering in a real time if such possibility is included ofc. Now with the settings I have I cannot make any  changes untill the rendering is not finished which makes the spot rendering not of much use.

2. Is there a way to resize the spot rendering new window AND most important - to save the resized window as defalt at least for this scene? Now I need to resize it after each render wich is a PITA when I need to render small parts of the scene.

RE 1), You can cancel a spot render, just like you can cancel a normal render. You do not need to wait for it to finish.

RE 2), I don't know of any way to predefine and save a spot render window size.

you could try using the auxilary viewport tab to focus in on a specific area with it rendering in real time.  Then use the regular view port to make your adjustments and just back and forth.

I reduced the min and max samples to 3, may try them with just 1 with more light, but it still takes time and I want to make a new face by morphing so I need zillions of morphs to do. I guess it may be easier to do in Hexagon but I know nothing about Hexadon and shouln'd like to start it learning too (basically I am a blender guy).

Oh, and is there a way to save as new default starting screen the adjusted rendering settings not to be forced to adjust them every time I start the program?

Save a Render settings preset and set DS to load it on Startup or File>New via Edit>Preferences, in the Startup and Scene tabs respectively.

If you have a semi decent graphics card, just do you work with Iray preview switch on in the main screen. That way each time you tweak a morph you see the results almost immediately.

Agreed. I also recommend the render throttle product. There are threads about it here an, I believe, in the commercial products forum (not certain).

Thanks a lot; looks this is what exactly I needed!

Vaguely related, can anyone explain why my Render settings suddenly switched to Progressive? I don't use Progressive rendering, and I never went into the settings and clicked that box. Whiy is the box suddenly clicked?

Maybe you loaded a product that was saved as a scene with render settings.

Ah. That's probably it. Came in with the scene.

Can explain me please how exactly to do a single small viewport for render in real time? I see I can make 2 or 3 small viewports but not a single one.

This isn't exactly what you're looking for, but you can open up a different viewport view, then you can control each camera individually and zoom in on the section you want.

    Daz Studio viewports

Another method is you can save the character you're trying to customize (using Save As...>Scene Subset) then load it in DS by itself. That way, you can adjust it in preview mode and it will update much faster because DS isn't updating the entire scene. Then save it and load it into your scene.

I don't know if there's a way to do an interactive spot render.
