...but how many people know to make that calculation as UTC is not widely used here in the States outside of some scientific and military circles?  Granted I had a minor in astronomy as well as worked in the college's observatory and all our settings for observations used universal time, so for myself that is not an issue (where I am is UTC -8).

Many people here more readily understand "MST" and "MDT", so in future promos, this should be noted.

Could also be noted that some customers aren't in the US at all.

...true however in Europe and other parts of the world, GMT/UTC tends to be more widely observed (even the 24 hour clock is used) than here in the States so the UTC +/- is not so much a matter.  Here people still tend to dislike change (like the US not adopting the metric system which is pretty much the standard in the rest of the world) so we stick to our labelled time zones and hour time shift each spring/fall.

Now I know 8:00am CEST/CET is midnight for Daz Shop (except for March and October because of US daylight savings change 2 weeks before Europe).

Yeah, would be nice if GMT would be mentioned when such "deals" are offered. Especially, as it is "the" standard timezone from which all the others derive.

Would make the need to google what MST/MDT means or is translated into clockwise.

Never heard of UTC though... it's one of these scientific thingies only "special" people seem to know and use, while all the oldtimers stick to "GMT" especially as it seems GMT/UTC are basically the same?!?

I would have known gmt and such, but as Maikdecker never actualyl heard of UTC and have no clue what that means *curious*

It seems the official reason is that

Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) is often interchanged or confused with Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). But GMT is a time zone and UTC is a time standard.

So  OK fine,  but why is it UTC and not CUT,   again there is an official explanation

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the International Astronomical Union wished to minimize confusion and designated one single abbreviation for use in all languages.

I have to admit that I use GMT,  as I do actually live in the GMT time zone.  In fact for 18 months I worked in Greenwich Park, got to see the time ball almost every working day and sometime managed to see it drop (it drops once every 24 hours) , You can also stand with one foot in the east and one foot in the west, straddling the Prime Meridian line in Greenwich Park

It's also a very attractive smallish park, surrounded by History and with some lovely old buildings close by to explore, if you ever get to visit the UK.

Ok, so again the banner says "MST" when Utah would be observing "MDT", correct? And isn't MDT UTC -6 anyway? So I guess they really do mean MST and UTC -7, but if anyone thinks "DAZ Noon" based on the "12 pm" they will be caught off guard?

*Or... I guess people might have an extra hour?

    New coupon! Half off PC+

The question is when does it end? At noon DAZ time or good all day?

From the definition of 12pm it would seem to be ending at noon: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/12%20p.m. But there is some ambiguity: http://www.npl.co.uk/reference/faqs/is-midnight-12-am-or-12-pm-faq-time

In the past, Daz used 11:59pm when they meant midnight, so this is most likely noon. And more coupons will follow?

"Zulu" is (or was) the military term for UTC.

I'm looking forward to the day where everyone uses the 24 hour ISO format (most of the world already does).

I'm my experience 12am has always been midnight and 12pm has always been noon.

BUILD-My-FG code does not appear to be working.  Tried with the Amazing Skins for Minotaur 6.

Also, opening a ticket about this whole MST controversy.  It's MDT if you mean Daz Time.  MDT would be -6, not -7...

Yeah, that was the problem.  While  I did have two items in the cart, I didn't hav two from the same sale.  I missed the fine print.

Also, submitted a ticket on the whole MDT issue.  MDT is UTC -6, not UTC -7... so if the sale ends in a couple of minutes which would be UTC -7 (as opposed to an hour from now),  well either way the coupons are causing confusion.

I imagine it's still the winter at Daz headquarter cheeky , the server clock ignore the daylight savings.

At the end, the time is the same I mean MST -> CET or MDT -> CEST, there are still 8 hours of difference.

The current coupon will expire in 50 min.

I wonder why they did not do these coupon-o-copia during March madness...

How does that work?  I put 2, 3 and 4 items from that group in the cart, and no discount?
