Look on YouTube. There are several there. A couple pa's have done tutorials if I'm remembering correctly.

I'd be interested as well. I have requested it a while ago but haven't found a decent post work tutorial for characters yet.

    Thanks for the answers.
Yes, there are tutorials on youtube
Shannon Maer, is very good, but the tutorials are not complete and I'm not exactly what I'm looking for. I bought one here on daz but not even that helped me

he's very good, but it's too complicated. He paints the whole character. I'm looking for something simpler

It depends on what you mean by plastic - you might be able to do a fair bit by adkusting lighting and materials, and by making sure that the materials used are made for the render engine you are using (3delight or Iray, assuming this si daz Studio). Please post a render, with clothes on, and details of what you used.

Ok, In the first I replaced the head of the character with a picture.
The second one is Michael 4 and I'm still working on it.
The third is Genesis 3 but I do not like that shiny skin.

Are those Iray rebders (Render settings Editor tab, Render Engine button at the top)? How was the scene lit?

I did not understand the question. I am attaching the panel screens and one of the composition.

Usually, except for the "max Time" and "render converged ratio" I leave all default settings

I hope you can help me. Thank you

In the parameter tab, set Render Subdivision to 2 or even 3 for the character. That usually helps bringing out a lot more details of the skin. Also, a point light creates flat light, so you don't get a lot of shadows. You can try experimenting around with light so it helps sculpting the figure. There's also the option of going to the surface tab and reducing glossiness... It ultimately depends on what your goal is. "Realistic" can mean anything.

EDIT: if you are up to reading...

Here's some "basic reading" that might give you a few insights: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/56788/iray-start-here#latest
