DS: PNG Render Preview Icons - Can I disable them?

Hi everyone,
Hopefully this won't be too long, but can't figure it out.
Has DS always included a *.png ‘preview’ of renders saved as *.tif files?
Noticed it yesterday and quite annoying. If viewing any renders directory via Windows Explorer in "icons" mode, I have two ‘pictures’ of all renders: the tif preview, and new (and useless) png preview icons. That hasn’t happened before, but been having technical problems with DS. Hoping it’s just a setting I’m overlooking.
Example. “My Render.tif” + “MyRender_tif_icon.png”
Problem does appear to be in DS 4.10.0.123 --> Delete the *.PNG preview icons in Windows explorer. All is well.
Open DS. I haven’t done anything. Simply close DS.
Open folder containing my renders. The png render previews are back.
Hasn’t been that way in the past.
How do I tell DS not to generate a png ‘preview’ icons for renders?
thanks for reading

I don't have that issue, but I think that may be because I save my renders to somewhere other than "My Render Library" or whatever it is, and basically don't use that folder. I also don't use the Render Library pane at all.
There's a "My Renders" pane?
Been using "Image Path" in render pane.
It has a (new?) icon or one I haven't noticed before-- looks like a photo symbol.
Default = C:/Users/Owner/Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/Render Library
It's empty of course because never used it.
Image Path that looks like traditional folder icon.
E:/3D Stuff/scenes
Odd because it's never made PNG preview icons until yesterday. (Updated DAZ Essentials & Figure metrics to get Measure Metrics to work.)
Would that change default or custom settings?
Might have to ask over at nuts & bolts, but more people browse commons so figured I'd ask here.
Mods: if in the wrong place--> moving topic no problem.
thanks!

Bruce, switch from the little icon that looks like the photo to the one that looks like a file folder. Then specify the directory where you want your renders to go. That will eliminate the creation of these PNG thumbnails.
So easy (and obvious) once someone else points it out.
Thanks for time in helping me.
