how to make Dforce select your better graphics card to do calculations?
in The Commons
Im currently away on a trip and im using my laptop right now. My laptop uses an intel hd graphics and a GTX 1050, i want daz Dforce to calculate simulations using the 1050 but there is no option to select that.
anyone know a way to make dforce use my Gtx 1050? oh and also I tried right clicking and choosing "run with gtx 1050" and that does not work. Whenever i try to hit simulate on dforce it still gives me that warning message about how im using my hd intel graphics card and how its going to "take a long time".

The Advanced tab of Simulation Settings lets you specify the OpenCL provider, the device used for the calculations (OpenCL, not OpenGL).
One thing I've noticed, using GPU sometimes halfway through a sim I get an error saying something to the effect of "an error was encoutered during simulation" or similar. The clothes don't explode or anything, it just stops the sim. After that every time you try to sim you get an error saying something to the effect of 'Error setting up simulation" or something like that. So dForce becomes unusable until you close Studio and reopen it. Recently after encountering this scenario I decided that rather than closing / reopening Studio, why not just to switch to CPU to see if it made a difference. Boom! worked. Leads me to beleive it's possibly a memory issue in the GPU because clearly it's not the geometry. I don't know. But something to be aware of, nobody else is complaining about it so maybe it's just buggy driver or hardware on my end. But if it does get you, CPU can still be used albeit much slower.
