Re-create character in Daz question (or commission?)

Hello everyone, thanks in advance for any help you can give. The question is this: I have a beloved character that I created in GTA Online, which I have had illustrated by several artists on a commission basis. I would love to have her re-created in Daz Studio so that I may pose her, try different outfits and the like. How easy is this to accomplish? Is there any among you who has re-created celebrities or family members who might wish to take this project on as a commission? I would certainly appreciate any advice (as in, what Daz components are recommended etc) help or Daz artists who might wish to commission this for me.

Cheers,

Mike.

Hi Mike! I hope you're able to find an artist who can re-create your character for you. It might help to perhaps post pictures of the character? If she's close to an existing 3D character then it might help entice people to take on the project. If she's really pretty that might also help inspire someone to want to help you re-create her. :) Just a thought. Then again if she's ugly and isn't even close to an existing character it might also inspire someone who enjoys taking on a challenge. lol You never know! :)

Thanks for your thoughtful reply! I can post some images from in-game for sure. I'd rather not post the artist illustrations I've commissioned on a public forum...they are a bit personal to me. Of course I would make them available to someone I'm working with and they are stunning! She is very pretty, and I've really come to identify with her in many ways. Thanks again for your suggestions!

She's pretty! What generation of figure where you wanting her as? The lastest, Genesis 8? Or one of the previous generations?

Thank you :D I think so too! You should see the artist illustrations of her, very impressive. I would think Genesis 8 makes the most sense.

She doesn't look especially challenging, as no way-out features... But will still be challenging, providing both the physical likeness, and the 'emotional' likeness - basically what you think you see when you look at the picture; there can be subtleties.

I'd suggest thinking about guidelines to give the artist who does the project. I would also set about getting really good images from GTA online if you can, which could be used by Facegen or as giudes when creating her face; anything you have for the body too would be helpful, as the clothed ones you've posted give a guide, but if you have special body features you require they need documenting - unless you've just concerned with the face, and basic body shape.

Hello, and thanks for your kind suggestions. I do have some more detailed photos (sans hair as well, head profiles etc.) from in-game but more importantly some highly detailed artist illustrations of head and body as references for anyone who may want to work with me on this. Cheers!

Oh and also, I totally get what you mean when you say “emotional likeness.” These such subtleties are really important; I’ve commissioned other illustrators to paint her for me and they simply didn’t resemble her. All of the basic elements were there....but she wasn’t “in there.” And then again, another artist (named Sara Biddle) has recreated her stunningly.
