Skin map question

Hi, I hope this is an easy one for somepone but it has me confused.
I'm trying to make a part of the skin partially invisible - like in medical books where there's a cut-out to show the heart, lungs, etc. The problem I'm having is that the cut-out goes across boundaries: some torso, some arms or legs. I can't figure out how to align the two maps so the I can identify a point on the shoulder which is the same for the torso and the arms.
Any hints would be welcome.

Snowsultan's Seam Guides are a big help for things like that.

It helps you visualize where different parts connect together, and has seam guides for most base figures.
Oh excellent - thank you. That looks like it will help.
Another handy tool when making features which span multiple maps is mCasual's Tailors Chalk script. You use spheres and planes in Daz to intersect with the figure where you want your cutouts to be, then run the script to get a set of blank images with lines to show where the edges are. Wow - that could make this task much easier if I understand it correctly.
Thank you.
