Help with shortening bones. (Morphing Python)

I was wondering if there was a way to shorten the bones on the morphing python. Specifically tail bones 20-30. I need to shorten them so they can wrap around more tightly.

I've tried shrinking the z-scale but that makes them an angular when bent.

I've also tried joint editor but that only makes other bones too long.

Any help?

Would it work to set rotation limits off?

  • I already use it with limits off. The bones tail 20-30 have parts that are too long for tight wrapping with limits off

Sounds like after shrinking them along the z axis, the weight maps don’t match the “bend behavior” that would be expected - might have to adjust them as well.

  • I might be able to do that along with joint editor. But when I use joint editor. It shows more lines than what I want to click on. Is there any way to have only the bone selected to show it's joint axis in joint editor?
