How do I lock a bone permanently?

On G3 or G8 I want that for example the left arm dosen't change the twist when I apply a pose. I tried to click on the lock symbol in the perameters tab but when I apply a pose it still changes. How can I lock it?

It works for me, with the poses I applied. You are locking the trasnforms on the bones, not the pose controls on the figure?

Weird now it is working. I could have sworn it didn't affect it, maybe a bug that fixed itself after restarting? Thanks anyway.
