Fbx Skeleton\Bones

Hello everyone.

Guys i have one question.

I have a model created in 3Ds MAX and it haves the it's own skeleton and bones. When i import the FBX to DAZ the model is imported correctly but the model don't move. You guys know if it's possible to import the model with the FBX's rig or i have to did the rig again on DAZ?

Thanks!!

yeah, .FBX import is totally whacked in DS from my experience which is a shame. I can import .FBX models all day long into Carrara and pose them, but not Daz Studio

  • I did have some success in poser importing in a FBX then saving it as a cr2 file then import that into DAZ well at least you get the bones.

It's one thing poser beats daz studio at. I really thought they were trying to get into the game industry so until they can both import and export they won't get taken seriously IMHO !

Agreed. I have always thought it very odd that you can easily export DAZ assets fully rigged to use in many other apps, but you can't import rigged figures at all. Seems very unproductive for trying to get more users interested in using Daz Studio. I would have no problem if it was the other way around.

Hi GuaiamuStudio, when I really want to render an .FBX model in DS, I import it into poser, Max or carrara, pose it, then export as an .OBJ (or . cr2 from poser as mentioned above) and then set up the materials in DS and render. It's a couple more steps, but the end result is the same. Of course this doesn't help with animations. these were done that way with .FBX models I used from the games I play.

    Hi again friend!

Oh, i understand, i was doing that, but it's because i wanted to animate them i DAZ :/

I'm still learning 3Ds MAX, i know somethings about modelling on it, but animation it's not for me yet hahaha. So if i could import to DAZ i could did my animation there because i know better how it works :/

Hi again friend! Oh, so if i import it to Poser, then after that send it to DAZ as a cr2 it will work? I can try that! :)

One thing to keep in mind, there are a few serious animators here in the forums and most of them find the animation tools lacking in DS and choose to animate in Maya, Max and C4D, so it might be beneficial to learn to get better at animating in max if you are serious about animation
