dForce Modifier maps: Can you turn them off/make more than one?

I want to sim some isolated parts of a mesh and thought about using a dForce Modifier Node to isolate my selection and provide a fall-off. However, I have an existing map for this particular item and don't want to get rid of it. My testing suggested you can only have one map, but perhaps I wasn't doing it correctly. Is there a way to turn off a map and have more than one maps?

  • As far as I know you can have only one map for each property. I haven't tried, but I think you could add a dFormer (that didn't actually do anything), give it a weight map, and copy your existing map to that to keep it safe while editing for the new effect.

  • Thanks. I suppose I could duplicate the item and make a new map for it, too.

    Your best bet would be to make a duplicate, create your map, then save that with a different name.
