Help me with getting a new GPU setup for rendering

Since I am doing more and more animations these days my main computer is always busy. I am planning on getting a second PC just for Rendering. However I do not want to blow bank in doing so.

I currently have an NVivdia GTX 980ti in my main rig. Its ok, but I would not mind doubling the power.

Do you guys have any solid recommendations for a two GPU setup that will give me about 6.000 Cuda Cores and not break the bank?

thanks

EDIT: Forgot the add, I can get by with 8GB of GPU RAM

Are you actually looking for twice the CUDA cores, or twice the performance? Because, for example, a GTX 1080 Ti has fewer CUDA cores than the 980 Ti, but is significantly faster.
