Can someone please help me reduce render times with Spot render?

So, I downloaded Daz Studio 4.9 with my Gaming PC after years of being away, expecting things to load up super quick and when I loaded up Genesis, it took a minute (which was a bit unusual. I remember my figures loading a bit quicker). But then I decided to do a quick spot render or two. The first one took well over a minute and the second one (which was larger) took 13 minutes! My PC was acting like I had a fully clothed figure, along with an environment and lights because this is how long it took to render an image with just basic stuff and nothing complicated. But a spot render?! Come on.

If a spot render takes this long, I'd hate to see how long it takes when I start adding things to my scene. This is unacceptable. Years ago when I used to use Daz Studio, it never took this long to do a simple spot render on my grey, boring, Genesis figure. It took a few seconds and BAM, I was done. So, I have a question. Is there any way I can reduce render times? What is Daz Studio 4.9 doing when it does a spot render that I can go and telll DS to stop doing so I can see my spot render in seconds? Can anyone please help me?

I think you will probably need to give your computer specs and perhaps your render settings.  Regardless, 13 mins for an unclothed character seems way too long.

First, I love your avatar. Second, when you mentioned render settings, I went back into DS and tried something. I switched to 3Dlight instead of Iray, which is what it was on. BAM! That fixed my issue immediately. Now I can do spot renders in seconds. I'll have to remember to switch back if I want my renders to look better with Iray (even though it'll take a lot longer), but 3Dlight works for the quick initial work I need to do first. I should have realized this sooner, but that's what I get for not using DS for 3 or 4 years. >.<
