DIM needs a better update system
Has DAZ considered using delta updates for their packages? I feel like I wasted my bandwidth updating the starter essential products for something trivial as metadata and scenebuilder support.

Daz Connect.
As Chris mentioned, this was one of the design goals of Connect. Which would be nice, but there are too many side issues. Connect uses a different structure for installed files - and this structure does not work with the generation 4 characters (Vicki 4, Michael 4, all their siblings, and most if not all their morph packages); Connect cannot use your DIM downloads, so it needs to re-download for the initial Connect install. These would be bad enough - but Connect was also used to introduce the concept of encrypted content and the uproar over that drowned out the rest.
@y3kman
DIM doesn't make you update a package. If you feel the update is unimportant to you, you don't have to download and install it.
That's not entirely true - Connect files are always compressed, DIM ones may not be and if not Connect will redownload. If the DIM fiels do match the Connect files (and you can try using the Batch Convert pane to compress everything before using Connect) then all that should required is a check against the server version and then the local fiel will be used as the source for the Connect isntallation, rather than a fresh download.
OK - apologies for the incorrect or out-of-date information. I haven't looked at Connect for some time as it just isn't viable for a dial-up internet setup.
Something like this would be nice, as I have no interest in using Connect.
