Scene Visible In Viewport Renders Blank

I'm at my wit's end.  I've set the scene up (over an hour's worth of time) Its an interior with two G8f's in it and a big picture window.  Its not an lighting issue, as the scene is not rendering black but rendering completely transparent (I have my background turned off which is how I render almost everything).  When I do turn on Draw Dome it renders the dome and the scene does not show at all.  I have saved and reloaded, switched cameras, etc etc.  Its like it doesn't see any of the several hundred items in the scene at all.

Any chance that Visible in Render is turned off for all these items in the Paramaters pane Display section?

Well, that would be a good question.  I didn't even know that was an option lol.  I have another scene rendering right now but will check that as soon as this one finishes.  Thank you!

I swear. every time I learn something new about this program I find out there are at least 10 more things I never even though of.

I loaded the saved scene and sadly, everything has visible in render on.  Any other suggestions would be welcome

Have You applied any custom shaders to the items? Mephoria's cloth shaders and esha's procedural gem shaders sometimes render invisible for me.

Man, this is a weird problem. First time I've heard of it. Do you want to send me a PM and let me know what's in the scene? If I have all of it, you can send me the file and I'll see if it does that for me.

Check the camera isn't below the ground level.

^This one always gets me - I want to drop the camera and angle it up - click render and get nothing.  Then after scratching my head, I go into the environment pane of render settings and turn off 'draw ground'

Another thing to check, if you are using Iray and have given your lights geometry, is that you are not behind a light - if you are turn off Render Emitter for the light.

Okay, Novica I sent you a message

The camera is definitely not below ground level its about chest height and it is not in a wall or behind a wall.

No shaders applied at all.  I dropped two g8f's into the scene, dressed and posed them, all with stuff I have used before with no issue.

I have not given my lights geometry but I will definitely check this when I get home from work, maybe its a thing with the light set I used.

I rendered the set, its a room with furniture, in a different scene and it works fine so its something specific to this scene.  I did remove the light set I started with and tried it with the default HDRI and it made no difference.

I have had this issue before. If I have the draw dome on it will render just the HDRI and completely ignore everything in the scene.  With the draw dome off, obviously, it will render a transparent background.  Usually, if I shut Studio down and restart it, it corrects itself but not this time.

Maybe off the wall... Have you inadvertantly created a section plane in front of the camera?

I don't know. lol it would have definitnely needed to be an accident though cause I didn't do one on purpose.  I will check that as well thank you!

  • How long did you wait for the render to show up before you gave up on it? I ask because I've had really figure/prop/texture crowded scenes take forever (seriously, like 15-20 minutes) to show up. Until it does, the render looks invisible...
