Poser Pro 2014, Carrara 8 and Victoria 4.2

PP2014 is doing some weird things when I use Victoria 4.2. The file I create in Poser seems ok, but then when I open it up in Carrara 8, I get weird issues with the shoulders. I didnt have this issue when opening a Poser 9 file in Carrara. What could possibly be happening and is there a fix for it? I dont have this issue with Michael 4, just Victoria.

Do you have SR1, and do you have Binary Morph Targets unchecked?

In the parameters window, uncheck use magnets in world space. It's on the second tab.

I was going to answer this last night but couldnt get back in once I got the ebot notification. To answer your questions, no, I dont have SR1. I wasnt aware one was out already. And question 2, binary morph targets is unchecked. I'll have to try later today that "parameters" option and see if that makes any difference. It's just funny to me how it affects V4, but not M4. Just weird.

    V4 has magnets. M4 doesn't. he's my man!

This is similar to V4's exploding butt which is part of the reason for the quick SR's. There's a thread regarding it and magnets in worldspace in the Official Poser 10/ Pro 2014 Forum at RDNA.

I tried to post this last night, but the forums were all messed up.

This problem has been reported on the RDNA forums

    http://forum.runtimedna.com/showthread.php?79829-MORE-V4-ISSUES!!!

Several other problems with V4.2 have been reported in other threads at RDNA too.

SR1 fixed some problems, but another SR1 didn't fix all the V4.2 problems.

SR1 was released recently about a week ago. I made a post about it in the Commons, but it got pulled.

In Poser? I don't see such a thing. Sounds like you're referring to Daz Studio...

I found a temporary solution. When I opened in Carrara, I was leaving the "import deformers" box checked. When I uncheck it when opening a Poser file it doesnt do the weird issue so far.

Yes Poser Pro 2014. Ok to be specific it's the properties tab in the parameters window.. Before the SR1 the "compute magnets in world space" was checked on default. The SR removed this. It fixed V4 butt problem. I haven't encountered the issue you see in your screen shots.

To get that particular property, you need to select Body for the figure.

Ok, I've looked and I dont see that option. Only ones I see on the "properties" tab for the "Body" of V4 are:

    Visible
    Visible in Raytracing
    Light emitter
    Visible in Camera

    Displacement bounds dial

    Include morphs when conforming
    Include scales when conforming
    Match end points when conforming
    Follow origins when conforming

    Subdivision levels
    Preview
    Render

Not seeing a “compute magnets in world space” box to check or uncheck

There are a bunch more below the displacement bounds dial

    Include Morphs When Conforming

    Include Scale when Conforming

    Match End Points When Conforming

    Follow Origins When Conforming

    Compute Magnets in World Space

Below that are the SubDivision Level sliders.

I'm trying to do a screen shot but I have to crop it so it isn't too big.

    I think I got it

Maybe it was added in the SR.

That's exactly where I'm looking and that line is not listed in my version. I'm on a PC with windows 7.

    PC Windows XP.

It's possible it was added in the SR as I had not played much with this version when I installed it as I was in the middle of project.

I read a thread about the new version breaking V4 and then the SR came out. Maybe if you download and install the SR it will fix it.

Did you check the thread in the forums over at RDNA? There's probably more information over there.

My versions is also the 64-bit version. Maybe that was something they added in the SR1, I'm not sure. I've downloaded it but havent installed it yet. I've checked the topic over at RDNA and there's not much more info than what's been said here.

    It's actually XP 64.

The readme for the SR wasn't all that clear. I just know that after I installed it, the butt problem went away. The V4 in the screenshot is the base V4 as it loads from the library.

Yes, that was it I got emailed that it had been removed shortly after I posted it. I made the post right after I got an email announcing SR1.

That's strange, should have been advised it was moved, not removed.

Well hello there guys I am the one who posted that topic in the RDNA section about scale issues. In the topic someone did post a solution but I only gained a new one. If you go to parameter dials in the corner there is a triangle and what you do is click it and select "show hidden parameters" and tweak the scales that might solve some of the issue however if you scaled it down for a reason you might lose the aesthetic you desired. I hope the magnets work but I would try this first.

HI, I tried this year and the same problem started for me too. I installed all the latest versions.

Also, the 'limits off' option on import no longer works. If I disable deformers and leave limits on, the import is moderately ok, but without magents my import figures doent work at all because I use the 'perfevt V4'from xandm which has magnets.

I find myself stuck between a rock and hard place, because in my opinion nothing looks better than perfect v4, but posers and daz3d renderers are terrible compared to carrara  I am trying to switch to luxrender but I still prefer carrara for alot of things and the testure conversion in poser for luxrender is also inferior.
