Skin Diffuse Question

I want to turn G8M african american without adding a texture, can someone share a good diffuse color to help me achieve this?

Why not just turn on the iray preview and then experiment with colors till you find the one you want. I did this change in 2 minutes, just changed the base and the translucency colors

  • It depends on the skin your using, but I prefer to set translucency to 0.9 and then change the colour to midtone and the diffuse colour to a midtone. I tend to make the diffuse more cool tone and the translucency more warm...

Here's a couple settings for the Base Genesis 8 Male textures:

You'll mainly want to adjust Translucency Weight, Translucency Color, and SSS Reflectance Tint.

That's just a starting off point, you'll want to adjust it from there to get more of a natural looking skin. :)

Raisng the translucency weight will also darken the skin tone.

I should pipe in and mention that we black people have roughly the same color palms, soles, finger nails, and toe nails as every other race....  I always found the change diffuse color unconvincing.  I would probably alter copies of textures in an image editor with ethe appropriate masks...

Something I am well aware of, was just doing what the OP asked for. I figured if they had problems changing the colors in the diffuse map, then altering a texture in an image editor would be even more confusing, so I didn't bring it up.

funny how some PA's are not aware of it with their darker skins blush

I often end up using a different skin with lighter palms etc because of this oversight

Out of self interest, I am very much in favor of having dark skinned people looking like real human beings.
