Adding pose controls

not sure if this is the right place but is there a way i can add pose controls such as twist or side to side to a body part that doesnt have them?

    Dunno about adding them, but you can make them show up when they're present but hidden.

    On the Parameters tab, click the options button (the four horizontal lines with a solid triangle pointing at them, above the tabs in the sidebar). Check "Show hidden properties." You'll then see a load of extra greyed-out properties on most bones.

    You may, I think, be wanting to add new bones. That is certainly possible (Joint Editor right-click menu with the parent bone selected) but then you have to give them influence on the mesh (weight-editing tools if this is a weight-mapped figure like a Genesis).
