Just about as cryptic as it is already. =-)

I am finding the following sales banner misleading: "GET AN EXTRA 10% OFF".

If an item is already on sale for 50%, I would expect that an extra 10% would mean that the item would be 60% off.  Instead it means that the item is 55% off which is an extra 10% of 50%.  I think that an explanation should be added to the sales page or the pricing model should be simplified.

What may have gotten you off track in previous shopping could have been the glitches, whereby sometimes things stacked that weren't supposed to, or several promos overlapped and you thought you were getting a discount based on what the banner said, but it was really from a different sale. And also, just a guess- I know during some glitches, the discounts weren't applying correctly but perhaps you thought that's the way they were supposed to be. This pricing has been this way for years, and you've been around since 2015 so I'm wondering why you suddenly think this is misleading? (I can empathize with pricing confusion due to glitches. We all can!)

Even though I downloaded the program back in 2015, I have only been using Daz and purchasing content since September of last year.  I am still very much a Daz newbie and from a newbie perspective I do find shopping with Daz confusing at times.

I regret using the term "misleading".  I did not mean to imply that I thought Daz was consciously meaning to mislead its customers.  I should have used the term "confusing".

I still believe that the phrase "GET AN EXTRA 10% OFF" is not crystal clear.  EXTRA is not a mathematical term so it is open to interpretation.  Ending the statement with the word "OFF" leaves the reader to interpret the target of the "EXTRA" discount.

I appreciate everyones comments and clarifications.  I got a good laugh out of the "grade school math" comment.

*items must be in cart simultaneously for discount to apply. Discount will not be applied to new releases, PC+ items, memberships, or gift cards. Extra percentage discount applies to already discounted price, not to full price.

Just a little boilerplate added to the small print and all is clear. smiley

If you'd like, you can edit the thread title and replace misleading with confusing. Or put in a whole new title. Though I wouldn't go so far as to change the topic. That can be confusing, too!

I've found so many of Daz promotions confusing, in part because wording of the adcopy is sometimes too vague: "But two or more of today's new releases and get an extra 10% discount on them" is not nearly so clear as "Get X extra discount on today's new releases when you buy two or more" … especially when it's the fourth offer in a list of offers where the other three are all "Buy a new release to get an extra X discount on these linked to products" In that situation "On them" implies by proximity that the fourth offer is an additional discount on the three previous offers if you purchase two or more new releases.

I think, however, that I've pointed out these things so often, Daz now ignores me.
