PerspectX ActionNews center and Security Expert Building - any reviews?

I'm tempted on these items in the Fast Grab, but the reviews I've been able to find on this vendor's other products make me hesitant.  Do the cameras move in the news center and the doors open?  Or are these all single piece sets where all you can do is hide items?

  • I only have the executive jet from PerspecX but it does have separate props and the doors open.

Hmm.  That would be a bit more reassuring if the cat page for the Jet didn't actually clearly say "All Doors open/Close" while the cat listing for the Security building write up makes it sound like there's one (1) door that's a separate prop for the control room area but doesn't say anything about any of the other doors like the front doors to the building, while the cat write up for the News Center doesn't even mention doors.

Newsroom has no doors AFAICS, sort of an open environment, no front wall. Cameras, stage, chairs and servers can be moved. File is only 7-8 MB btw, so no huge shaders, and render preset is included.

Thanks so much for the images. The fact that the rooms behind the glass are just photos already had me leery and it appears that the cmaeras are just static props that don't connect to anything.  Since I've already got a few other TV studio sets, so even at Fast Grab prices, this one is a pass.  I did go ahead and bought the security center set but haven't had a chance to download it yet.  I suspect I'll have to replace the chairs if I want any kind of posability and hopefully the images on the monitors won't be too big a bear to replace.

Wait, what is causing the blur effect on those framed panes?
    THAT's the FROSTED GLASS........

    Are they glass or translucent?
    please explain the frosted glass.....

And and...does anyone know if the security consoles can be separated and used as stand-alone props?

Nevermind. It's locked into the "Control Room" and the frosted glass is part of the "Room".

These are kind of a bust. I gotta think if I can really use these when they're one big glued up item, with a few props

Prepare to be disapointed.  I just loaded it up on my work computer to check.  First problem - a LOT of the textures didn't load properly.  As I expected, the control room is all one single block prop.  The only things that are separate prop elements are the blinds and the chair.  It does looks like you could separate the computer desks out by selecting only their surfaces, but they'll still be locked in the same positions, and nothing on them is poseable.  Seriously thinking about returning it, which is something I never do, but I'll load it again on my actual rendering system to see if the texture issues are still there.

I didn't do a proper render, but I am wildly disappointed. I heard the reasoning behind these kind of decisions, but it's still maddening. Render Speed and CPU/RAM resources and easier etc....

I only grabbed the two newest releases (space Bedroom and space Hallway) because I see the potential in using the parts to make new rooms or at least other areas of the same structure.

I loved the floor in that newsroom. And the platform/stage area. I dunno. Lets see how MM shakes out, but that money could go to something else.

I'll probably keep two, but that security room has to go. Loved the consoles, but no way to get to them? Nah.
