DAZ: Offer up a build your own PRO bundle package.

I would love this really. 12 items of our choosing in a pro bundle. and it acts like the regular pro bundles ... so you could get 3 FREE BYO when you buy the newest pro package, etc ..such as now EDWARD where if you buy 3 add on products, you get 3 bundles free.

So right now I would choose a male based pro bundle -  Edward, tat package (2), piercing, Urban clothes (3), a couple more character (2), hair (3)

Would you pay full pro-bundle price for that (or PC+ discount anyhow) or would you expect the same discount applied to a New Release Feature Pro pack? Like, are you imagining $60, $90, $120 or what? It seems like making anything in the store available as part of a $60 12-pack (or even 'anything of the above categories') would be potentially extremely unkind to some of the high-end product creators. On the other hand, something closer than $100 isn't THAT different from a Catch-Up Day in a sale like March Madness, so is kind of already available, at least occasionally?

I do think it's an interesting and useful idea, but I have this feeling that if people could get a Feature Pro Bundle for $60 or a BYOB for $120, there would be enough complaining that Daz wouldn't do it again.

The way I could see this happening--DAZ willing--would be to remove everything but the characters from the Pro Bundles as they are and let you pick those supplemental items from a list of choices DAZ provides--not from the whole store. So you'd buy a Darius 8 Pro Bundle, for example, and get the same characters that are in it now, but then you'd be able to pick from hair and costumes available to all G8M Pro Bundles to fill out the supplementary items. I think DAZ puts items they've bought out from the creators into the Pro bundles, so you'd be limited to those DAZ-provided choices in order to keep PAs from getting ripped off.

  • Its definitely a decent idea and I probably would buy a BYOB if made available. And I have seen it mentioned before in my sporadic lurking of these forums.

Defintiely a lot a variables for DAZ to wade thru if the were to do a BYOB sale.  Probably would have limits on it like: can only choose from DAZ originals or pick from this selection of 500 products only or pick whatever but can't exceed the greater of 12 products/$275 total original value of products (ie. could end up with 8 products but there value is $275 or 12 products with a value of $220).  Price of the BYOB Pro would be in-line with normal Pro prices: $135 plus any PC discounts.  Periodically (quarterly and during March Madness) they could put them on sale for the $66 price.

This sounds like a very sensible and practical idea to me, and it would greatly enhance chances for me to spend money on a PRO package. Right now it's usually the things I don't ever will need in those packages that keep me from buying them.

Yes, I'd wind up buying a Pro Bundle and as many hairs as I had slots for or something like a Pro Bundle and a bunch of clothing like Saree, Hellenica, Roma, and a few other clothings.
