Opacity Map for Hair

So I am trying to create a character with two different hair styles. So one hair prop on each side. So I am trying to find out if there is a way to use opacity map and hide the side for one and then the opposite for the other. If that makes sense.
Thanks

In theory it should be possible, but it really depends how the particular hair is UV-ed, some of the hairs just have overlapping strand layers to simplify the texture. Look into the template folders (if available) or how textures of hair you want to edit look to give you better orientation where the sides are. If you're familiar with unwrapping and UV mapping you could make a new UV map and divide these regions in an external application.
The other method you could use is with geometry editor inside Daz Studio. Select parts of geometry of hair you want divided, and go to assign geometry > create new surface from selected, and then manipulate a different opacity map from there on a newly created surface for that region.
Hope that helps.
Sweet! I think the geomtry editor worked well. I actually just selected different parts of the hair and changed visibility to hidden. Thanks!
