CMS how to add a new top level category?

i seeing how to add a sub category, but how to add a top level

trying to make the stuff i find works in carrara, show up in the carrara smart tab. 

setting up loveybear, he's a srandalone figure.  he works in carrara.  
he has pose sets, morph sets, shader sets.

from start to finish, how would i setup his meta data?
 

example, categoty, carrara, cutie,  then somehow see all the stuff for him  ?

twice ds crashed on me when i edited the compatibility list
