not seeing anything on surfaces tab?

i updated to ds 4.10 on win10 (from 4.9)

surfaces tool selected,  alexandra selected, but not seeing anything on the surfaces tab.

tried loading a different figure, Nuggets, same thing.

tried selecting different workspace style, didnt help.  frown

    If you select the Alexandera root in the Scene tab, do you see the surfaces?

    You said you selected a surface with the surface tool, which should automatically select the object as well as the surface, but if Alexandera is the only object in your scene, she doesn't look to be selected in your scene tab screenshot.

    No yellow highlight on her name which probably means she's not selected (click on name).

    I had a similar trouble with the South Beach Deco Bathroom with iRay in DAZ format. For the bathroom walls when I selected them - no materials and no surfaces to even select to apply materials too! However in texture preview mode they showed as black (should have shown as terra cotta and turquoise colors but when rendered they were completely missing.

    i'm not seeing the lil properties icon that was on the upper right side of the tabs in ds 4.9

    well, i redid the intall, remembered to run as administrator, didnt seem to fix problem.

    on the ds launch icon i turned on run as administrator, was like

    POOF,

    seems to fixed it. can select surfaces.

    win10 uac woes.

     

    now if only win10 media player would play dvd movies.

    Ruuning as adminstrator (rather than running normally from an admin account) is a big no-no, don't do that. If you mean the tag on thumbnails syying what type of content it is that would be a content management service issue, which may well have been caused by running as admin if it gave the database files or folders admin-access only.

    setting the run as administrator on the dazstudio exe was the only thing got it to run the interface properly.  dunno what else to try

    Had you run DIM as adminsitrator? That would have started you off on the wrong foot.

    can the dim d/l just the support files for the cms?

    tryin to understand how to make cms useful.  there is a smart tab in carrara.
    would like to tag the stuff i find works in carrara

    I'm not sure what you mean by just the support files.

    You can certainly add tags to content, or create a new group.
