Asymmetric morphs Gen 3/Gen 8?

Is it possible to isolate morphs to one side or other? Specifically like ears, eyes, jawline, lips things like that? Gen 3 or Gen 8 either one.

this should be much more common

I've seen some that change make an entire side of the face bigger or smaller or tilted but nothing for individual features (except breasts I know there is one for that)

  • Standard Definition morphs, yes, HD morphs no. If it's a distinct morph on each side (something like an ears morph, where there's an unchanging area between the two sides and you just want one of them:

    1. Set the morph and click the heart icon on its slider to make it a favourite
    2. Switch to the Geometry Editor tool and then right-click>Selection type>Vertex Selection
    3. Put the parametrs pane in Edit Mode (via right-click menu) if it isn't and right-click on your morph, Select Morph Vertices
    4. De-select the vertices you still want to be affected by the morph (easiest to right-click>Selection Mode>Marquee Seelction, then alt-drag over the vertices to deselect - this is best done in Wireframe preview mode)
    5. right-click>Morph Editing>Clear Selected Deltas from Favourites
    6. You may need to edit any ERC links if your morph adjusted joint centres or triggered other morphs

if it's a morph that meets in the middle then you will probably want a smooth transition between the two halves, which gets a bit fiddlier - especially if it has corrective morphs linked to other morphs or rotations. You will also need to do this if you want to make a new split morph, rather than just editing the existing morph

    1. Export the morph(s) as OBJ
    2. Create a new dForm. Try to position the field to give the weights you want to apply to the morph - scale it up and position it so it divides the mesh in two, say
    3. Switch to the Node Weight Map brush Tool and in Tool Settings pane click Add Map next to the Influence Weights button (which is a list button for picking the map to edit) - this will bake the effects of the field to the new map
    4. Edit the map to have a weight of 1 for the vertices you want affected by the morph, 0 for those you want unaffected, and intermediate values for the transitional areas.
    5. Edit>Figure>Morph Load Pro
    6. Select your OBJ file(s)
    7. Click the triangle next to the morph name to show options, then at the bottom right-click on the None next to Attenuate by and select the dForm you have just been editing. You can load multiple morphs in oen operation, though you will have to make the setting for each
    8. If there were joint centre adjustments you will need to recreate them; if there were corrective morphs you will need to export those as their own OBJ files and import them with attenuation; you will need to rebuild any ERC needed to control joint centres or corrective morphs (you can use the original morph as a guide).
