What am I doing wrong???

Okay... set up a single light source. was working with some complex stuff in post... when I hit render, the light source isn't showing up, and the I am getting lights from out of nowhere... that are not in the scene set up... I have attached pics. The dark one is how the lighting is set up... the one in that is not dark is what is rendering...

Hey,

if you are rendering with iray check in the render settings on environment if the environment mode is dome and scene. (if you want a transparent BG set Environement map to none).

The lights you are adding in iray need a silly high Luminous Flux (Lumen). The default value for this parameter is around 1500. Set it high, very high (100.000 up to x.000.000)

If you're saying that the Iray image is too bright, then set the environment intensity to 0.  Also make sure that you don't have headlamps on -- check both your render settings and your camera for that.
