This was a question asked but never answered in the old forum.
Is there a seam guide for Sam and Sadie? If so, where can I get it?

Thank you.
Hopefully my Thanks appears below.

I checked SnowSultan's web site for them, but no luck (I'm sure you tried that too)
I hope someone can help.
Thanks for checking. Snow Sultan was the first place I checked.
I'll test to see if UV Mapper Free will make the texture map for me. If it does, I wonder if I can repost the map. With all of the peeks inside this thread, I don't think I'm only one interested.
Do you mean the old standalone Sadie and Sam figures or the shapes for Genesis? I don't own either one so unfortunately I can't make a template for you, but if you're using the Genesis shapes, you can switch the UVs in DAZ Studio's Surfaces panel to work with V4 or other figures' textures.
Sorry I can't be of more help!
edit: oh, and if you make blank templates, you can share them. You just can't share any mesh files (like OBJs) or actual texture maps.

Cool Beans! I was able to make a blank texture map for Sam Body suit. I wish I understood a little more about the whole thing but maybe I can make my bodysuit after all.
I'll just over to Nuts n Bolts and ask how do you know which part of a UV map is the side and back. I understand a texture map is like unwrapping your obj skin but really, without a line down the side or something, how do you know?
Thank you! I hope it will be even better than the texture I made. I must learn Patience!
You're welcome.
Do you happen to have Hexagon?
Why yes. Yes I do. I got the last free version. May I ask why?
Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Great! Because you can very easily get a template :-)
I'll be back with some pics.

I'll be here!
Okay ... this was a quick job. [translation, hope I got this right]
1. Import a "copy" of the .obj found in the Geometries folder of whichever item being worked on.
2. I've circled some of the main areas being used. You only 'need' one template per .obj group [i.e. not every shading domain].
3. I'm illustrating how to add a texture paper to paint on. Small is fine because one needs to match them all making them all the same size [and larger of course] in the image editor. And before starting to paint, make the colour 'white' ;-)
This is no where near as perfect as SnowSultan's but can be done.
Exporting out a new .obj and 'flip' the textures so Hexagon will also ship out a whole bunch of textures for you.
Now those along with the templates can be used in layers in your image editor.
I found selecting each section in the templates and even just by using light effects, one can make colourful sections for easy selection for texturing.
One minor detail is to paint a little around all the edges to allow for 'seam allowances'. Otherwise some areas are usually a pixel or two off and the seams will show on the figure in D/S.
I've attached my squirrel template which I created using Hexagon and PSP as an example.
This is amazing! I had no hexagon could do all this. It didn't seem intuitive. 11pm on the west coast of the USA so I'll have to start in the morning but I'll keep working on this so everyone can see what can be done.
Admins if you wish to move this to nuts n bolts I understand.
Just discovered your tutorial. This is a life saver.
