What next from Faveral ?

Being a huge fan of Faveral's products, I wonder what's coming next from him. I'm sure it will be as gorgeous as usual, but I'm impatient to know !

Gothic MICK, maybe ?

Although it is not quite the same, I think this could be used for Zurich Old City

David, you're spot on. I'm in the finishing process of Mick gothic. Close to 100 architectural props and presets for a cathedral a church and a hall...just a few more weeks to go. Already 3 months working on it...time flies!

Sounds really good to me, too!  My credit card, however, has just has just thrown a tantrum and is trying to hide at the bottom of the  garden. Again!

    Cheers,

    Alex..

@Faveral Any chance for an eventual exterior for the cathedral?

100 architectural props.... Cathedral.... Church.... Hall.... "Tremendously impatient" is an understatment to describe how I feel about this !

If it could be released next week, it would be perfect :-)

I think the purpose of MICK is that is does interiors (ie I is for Interior). Although a outdoor kit might be nice as well, maybe call it MOCK!

Yup. That's why I asked about an exterior since Faveral previously did exteriors as well.

I'm not a big fan of doing both exteriors and interiors of the same building in the same set.The reason is, that on any render wether it'd be ouside or inside you only see one side, so 100's thousands of polys are loaded in memory that don't even show in the final render (aside from a few props that can be seen through an open door, but I still don't think it's worth the memory burden) I love doing outside props as much as inside ones but I don't see the benefit of doing an all inclusive, as it really is taxing on resources

...which as someone with an aging computer I appreciate a lot.

Sometimes it's worth remembering that the Star Trek TV show managed to portray the Enterprise interior with a bunch of disconnected set pieces (though a pretty long curved hallway) and an exterior that was a few feet long.  Western shows and movies have unrelated interiors and exterior facades.  Heck, the Brady Bunch exterior house establishing shot didn't even match the living room set architecturally.

That said, I wish there were more well-matched interiors and exteriors.

Therfe are more of them than you'd think, but the promotional text and illustrations both here and at DAZ don't always make it clear.  There's an artist over at Rendo who puts fully furnished interiors in all of his gorgeous Medeivial sets, but never mentions or shows them in his ads or text, and you have to be looking carefully to figure out that https://www.daz3d.com/airport-island-villa-park has interior/exteriors for all seven houses.

  • So, Faveral, do you have a few promo images ready ?

Well....MICK-GOTHIC is finished, I'm now in the process of assembling the various buildings. But without the added props specific to easch preset, empty buildings are not very "sexy" to look at. So after 100 architectural props, I'm making more props for each set...Altar, crucifix, pipe organ, pulpit, baptismal font, chalices, candles, chairs, benches etc.... Still a little work to do.
