new GLSL shaders ?
It's some time that I didn't look at the default shader. Mainly because in my tests with 4.5 I found extreme limitations in OpenGL rendering. Now I see new lighting models that seem to work fine with GLSL. There's also a skin shader with sss. This could be great for quick toon renderings.
I wonder if I'm the only one who noticed these .. when did they come out ?

Been around for quite some time now;) The skin model renders fast but can cause some serious artifacts when rendering in progressive mode.
