Some of the eyes of these ladies are quite striking.

Did she photograph women whom she (the photographer) thought of as "beautiful" or whom were thought of as "beautiful" in their homecountries by their countryfolks? Would make a great difference in some cases, I guess.

  • In many cases, I'd settle for the outfits.

It's interesting to see different "types" of beauty..

I know! The pic where the mother made the brightly colored outfits for her family, that was so striking.

Not sure, but regardless I find them all beautiful in their own way.

I think the focus was intended to be less on supermodel beauty and more on ordinary folks, based on her comment "beauty is diversity".

You can quite clearly see that she has selected woman she finds beautiful herself as they all have similar proportions. She clearly has a thing for lighter eyes, seeing as almost everyone no matter what country has unusually coloured eyes.

There’s definitely some diversity, but I wouldn’t say this challenges anything and only serves to reinforce certain global beauty ideals.

Yeah, that's about what I was thinking, too.

Thank the gods that these "global beauty ideals" aren't yet really fully global. devil
