Little Melody Hair issue - Is this the right place?

Hi Everybody,

I hope I'm using the right place for questions like this. Please let me know if not.

I purchased Little Melody Hair yesterday and have installed it in PP 2012. Issue is that when the hair is added to V4.2++ it's distorted, bangs all over the place, through her eyes an things! No amount of tweaking the param will correct this. Now I've used PP for a couple of years now, and this is not just normal mis-configuration. Have a look at the screen grab.

Does anyone know what might be the problem?

Thanks guys.

Sarah

Are you using the V4 version rather than the Genesis version?

    Thanks for replying.

I'm using V4.2, not the Genesis version. Is that why?

I don't know how the files are named, but that looks like it might be the Genesis version of the hair rather than the V4 version. What were the names of the installers/zips you installed?

This is the file I installed:

    15930_LittleMelodyHairVictoria4_1.0_dpc.exe

It was a bit confusing because there were other files also:

    15930_LittleMelodyHairPoserCF_1.0_dpc

    And DSON CORE

I did not install these files though.

You have the correct installer for the V4 version. The other two are for use with the DSON importer and Genesis. If you don't need them or use the DSON, you don't need to install them.

Did you get this when conforming the hair or posing the hair?

The problem was apparent as soon as I double clicked the icon in the library. Before any posing or conforming. Is this the right way to add the hair?

I must admit I'm out of ideas here.

    It loads like that?

Yes, I tried that too. Sounds like we're all out of ideas!? I tried loading it up with out a model and the same geometry problems exist.

Just don't know what else to do. Hey, thanks to you for taking the time to try to help.

Only thing I can think of is that somehow the installation has got corrupted along the way. Can you remove all parts of it from your runtime and then try installing it again. Maybe even using a fresh download of it as well after clearing your cache to remove any trace of the previous download.

Yes, this seems to be the thing to do.

Ok, so I just look for anything relating to Little Melody Hair in all Poser folders and just delete, right? What cache & where do you mean?

Your Browser cache. Where you find it depends on whaich browser you use. I use FireFox and I find it in Tools / Clear Recent History. I then make sure that the only thing clicked is Cache

Well, I cleared the browser cache, deleted all the 'little melody hair' files, downloaded a fresh copy of the exe file and re-installed. Any it's exactly the same.

I noticed a couple of things this time though:

    In the readme file here:
    http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/15930/start

It says, Known Issues -'A figure must be loaded in the scene for .PZ2 MAT Poses to work in Poser.'

Does that simply mean that I need to have V4 visible on stage before it'll work?

And in the pose library there's a 'fit base!!' along with the MAT's which mentions 'Use first to FIT the BASE to your character'. I'm not sure what this means. I did try playing around with it but i'm not sure I'm using it correctly.

    Any ideas on this?

Well, I never got to the bottom it so I too am hoping it can be resolved. Any chance the creator could offer some advice?

At this stage the only advice I can offer is to file a support ticket, using Tech support as the dept.

I discovered a problem with the limits of the neck actor, and sent a note off to SWAM.

In the meantime, unhide the Fit Victoria 4 dial in the neck, and change the lower limit and the value to zero, which will fix it...
