Make sure Draw Dome is turned on in Render Settings
Check for in the Surfaces any settings that are set to 'Chromatic' is what I was told.
Draw dome "on" worked, no more dots.
When would you leave the draw dome off?
changed my topic question, see first post
If you aren't using a background in your scene, Draw Dome on will render the dome in the background. That may not be what you want to see. And many of us like to render with a transparent background so we can add our own in postwork. The only way to get a transparent background in Iray when you're using the "Dome Only" or "Dome and Scene" Environment Mode is to set Draw Dome to Off.
But I've read there is a known issue, though I don't know the details, that causes Iray to render some of the pixels of your objects as transparent. Those transparent pixels will show whatever is behind the image, appearing to be dots in your render. The esasiet fix is to set Draw Dome to On. But if you still need a transparent background, you could try what @nonesuch00 mentioned above:
Arrgh! lol...
Can you be more specific? Are you having trouble getting them to render? Posing? Trying to apply them to another generation of figures? What specifically isn't working?
Actually i saw another topic that mentions looking under the poser formats in content library, i found the character and loaded it, then went back under the products section by alphabetical order and found everything else, now it seems to work.
And how do i check for chromatic in surfaces? Can i type chromatic in the search?
Chromatic is an option of the SSS Mode of the Volume settings.
If you type SSS Mode into the filter box over the right column in the Surfaces Editor, it will display only that parameter, IF it's being used.
The long way to find SSS Mode is to drill-down one of the material zones of your object to the Volume section in the left column. It will be accessible when Thin Wall is set to Off.
I'm happy to hear you got the K4 issue resolved.
