Glasses for Genesis 3

Hey all, So i wanted to give my Gen 3 guy a pair of glasses, like the ones i saw in the Steel Frame specx. I have that one, but no matter what i do i cant get it to fit to my Gen 3 character. Ive tried the fits but none work. Also I can manualy place them where i want them, but when i pose my character they dont move with him, they just stay in the same position.  Ive searched the store and all i can find is comedic round frame glasses, glasses for women, and pretty much all of them including the womans glasses, are sun glasses, all I want is just a pair of simple square frame glasses for my character im making. Does anyone know where to get them, or how I get some how get the ones for specx to fit for my gen 3. (BTW there is no fit for gen 3 that comes with them. )

Are you parenting the glasses to your characters head? If not, thats why the glasses wont move with your character.

    Have you tried parenting?

    1) Make sure your character is selected in the SCENE PANE and double-clicking the glasses in the Smart Content area/library should add them to the face and parent them to the head automatically.

    2) If not, then, yes, as they suggested you need to right-click "parent to" and pick the head of your intended figure.

    3) Glasses and Shades and "eyewear" is tough since they all land under other tags except for "glassses" angry

What I basically do, is grab the various glasses/shades from all the wardrobe outfits. You can save 'scene subset' and only select the shades and save them as a standalone prop and/or note (I have a production notes word document) some of the products you'll use in the future.

If you're not creating an animation, it's not really necessary to parent the specs, is it?

I'd say yes. What if you need to adjust your pose (i.e. turn the head slightly) after positioning the glasses, because it's not quite correct? We all have times when those tiny, last minute adjustments take place. If they aren't parented then you'd also need to reposition the glasses again and everytime after that. For something that takes only a couple of clicks it's definitely worth doing as soon as you set the glasses (or whatever) in place.

I'm sure many mothers and fathers have said those exact words too! wink
