Fun spotting DAZ products

So after a few times watching the Microsoft Office 365 "LovePop" commercial (the one about the card company) I spotted DAZ Dragon 3. Any other product spottings?

I mentioned this a couple of years ago but if you've ever seen Sid the Science Kid then they had an episode where Sid was dreaming and the whole lot of the 3DU Toon Generations (1st version) were walking down the street. LOL what was funny was the reduced the color palette alot, to give the scene a more old style cartoon look and so as the Toon Generations wouldn't look better than the Science Kids own 3D computer graphics.

I don't think I have seen that episode. My kids love watching Sid.

I remember several years ago DAZ offered rewards for verified sightings of DAZ products

Oh yes! I do remember that! :)

  • There are quite a few DAZ figures used to create a large number of images on stock photo websites. I also can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen V4 or M4 used to advertise diet products.

The self-checkout at the local WalMart used to have a 3D animation showing how to use it. I think they used Poser chick, though (made by Zygote, which became Daz, so 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon there).

Also, there's a show on Netflix called Ultimate Beastmaster (American Ninja Warrior/Sosuke spinoff) where they use 3D figures to demonstrate the obstacles, and they do look very Daz-ish.

I usually had it on in the background without sound so I don't remember what the episode was about except being surprised to see Toon Generations being used. The animation of them was excellent. As you know they usually use stick figures on a chalkboard for such mini-episodes (which I also like the style on a lot).

I know this is an oldish thread but I spotted https://www.daz3d.com/fg-pirate-cabin

and less obviously https://www.daz3d.com/pirate-cabin (sketch render) in this Thoughty2 video

  • A couple months ago I saw a photo of some girl trying to be an influencer on Instagram doing like a cute type pose in front of like an alley overpass thing. I did a second look as something seemed familiar and realized it was from Urban Future 7 lol.

I remember there was some commotion a few years back in Norway, when a digital figure (clearly identified as V4) was used in a campaign about breast cancer... "Everybody" was appalled because she had "perfect" breasts and no hair down south...

I used to try and figure out what were DAZ/Poser assets on paperback covers in bookstores... but aside from a couple of really obvious ones here and there, it's not that easy for me anymore.

I think it was the magazine ImagineFX (or something like that) that first drew my attention to that, because it had an article about how to do something similar using photos and Poser assets... but that was even before I discovered DAZ, which might have still been Zygote at the time.

City of Broken Dreamers (NSFW) over on Steam uses a lot of Daz Assets. The only I really remember was the Party Monster Outfit. I think the game is pretty popular. Everyone talks about how good the graphics are.

Actually, it seems like a LOT of NSFW games over on Steam use Daz Assets, especially the Visual Novel ones.

I'm afraid I see shows that mostly completely precede DAZ and even Poser. Hey, they are free to watch though, not even a cable subscription is needed just Internet & a ROKU stick.

...found this about a month ago, not so much a Daz product but the Daz programme itself.

I just checked this out. I think it's funny that in the one review of that movie that I've watched (on Youtube), the reviewer says the graphics look like they came from "some sort of porn game." Not that I needed any more proof that people associate Daz with pron.

Update: I just finished watching the review, and wow, does this sound like a bad movie. laugh

Just spotted Night Bar (https://www.daz3d.com/night-bar) in an interactive novel app for Android (Moments). They edited the render with filters and used it to illustrate a private residence, but it was still recognizable. Looks like they used it out of the box. It's the first time I've noticed an out of the box asset used in the app, but I suspected they use Daz assets before this. Overall, the art quality of the app is pretty good, with nicely animated avatars and well made clothing. It seems like it's a major app, so it's cool to see a Daz environment there!

I see a lot of Daz assets on shows about aliens on Amazon Prime. I think it’s interesting that Daz (and other 3D) artists are shaping the way mankind views alien species!
