How to add a content path to older DAZ version

I have been using DAZ for a long time for personal enjoyment and a hobby.  I have never been even remotely considered "good".  I started DAZ many years ago when I was driving an 18s wheeler and I used DAZ as a Pastime while either picking up a load or delivering one.  As such I stayed with DAZ version 3.1.  I finally retired and old my truck and attempted to update to the newest version.  No luck, my learning curve leaves a lot to be disired (kinda flat).  I stayed with 3.1 for quite a while and then the genesis bug started biting.  I finally gave in and dl'd the new version and am having a hard time with it, so in order to give myself time to learn, I am running the old 3.1 too.  My problem is I don't remember hot to direct the 3..1 version to look for content in a specific place.  I would like to tell version 3.1 to look in the DIM, but I just don't remember how to do it.  Can this be done (I seem to remember someone telling me it is possible??).  If so, how???.....................Lee

  • I don't have 3 installed, but I think you could access the Content Directory Manager from the Content pane option menu as in DS4 - though the icon was diffrent, ir should still be in the top corner. Either that or Edit>Prefrences had a tab for setting content paths.

OK, I found it and added the appropriate file location.  Now I just hope it works.  Thanks for the help, I am extremely unfamiliar with the forum, so you may find this question somewhere else - please ignore it....................Lee

Oh, by the way, do you think I should do the same to DAZ 4?  Tell it to look in my old DAZ 3 location too?

  • Yes, it saves reisntalling the content and makes sure the /Data folder files for your scenes using imported content will be found.
