Genesis to Genesis 2 Pose Conversion---yes I know I'm very late to the game!

A long time ago I bought all kinds of wonderful batch converters for poses and textures.  I never really did anything with them.  I was so busy with Poser/V4 that I did not feel the need.  Fast forward to today and I'm switching my entire work flow back from Poser Pro to Studio Pro.  I really really like G3.  Like a bunch.  Like abandon V4 altogther and run off with G3.

I own several products, but I'm still not sure how to get Genesis 1/V5 poses into Genesis 2/V6 with any of these doodads.  I read somehwere that you really can't.  indecision  Nobody made anything?  Or was it just too difficult?

I have found I own the following products:  https://www.daz3d.com/pose-builder-for-genesis-genesis-2-female-s-genesis-2-male-s and https://www.daz3d.com/pose-converter-genesis-2-female-s-to-genesis-3-female-s and https://www.daz3d.com/v4-pose-converter-for-genesis-and-genesis-2-female-s

I *think* I had thought that the V4 to Genesis and Genesis 2 would have an option to go from Genesis to Genesis 2, but I didn't see it in there.  I have no issues getting V4 poses into Genesis 2.  And then I have a converter that will work on G2-G3.  But I have some awesome V5 poses that came with some of my DM sets and such that I would like to convert in some way to use on G3.

I don't pretend to understand all these conversion thingies.  If I go to the folder and select a V5/G1 pose and convert it to V6/G2 would that work?  I think I remember you could use G1 on G2 but the pose wasn't always perfect?  Much like G3 to G8 is now.  There's a script to fix the hands and feet.  Or maybe I am confusing versions of things?

Or can I use the pose builder and make NEW poses for G2 with G1 poses that I can save?

Or should I just be really glad I didn't buy a whole lot for G1 LOL?

Thanks!

  • G1 poses will apply to G2 directly, they just need to be tweaked. There may be some exceptions but I doubt it will be as drastic a difference as trying to get a V4 pose straight onto G2 or G3.
