DAZ Purchase Download Format - Legacy?

I only purchase items that are in Carrara or Poser format (Poser Core Installer).  Sometimes I'm offered both Poser and "Legacy" formats for download.  I've always selected Poser because it works fine in Carrara, by adding the Runtime to the Carrara Content Tab.  But what is "Legacy"?  Any advantage to Carrara?

    I think it might be legacy Daz Studio, the older DS-optimized files. If so, they often end in "_CF"

    Those are not any help to Carrara, that I'm aware of.

    In fact, since I never use DS as my render tool, I always "Hide" the DS format versions of products in my DIM, if they have the separate _CF or _DS suffix

    Legacy files are for older versions of DS which don't use .duf format (before 4.5)
