I dunno, every computer I've received has those pre-made foam cages around the case and it's always been fine. Not sure why they can't use those. That little bag seems pretty useless at best.

The bag is to try and keep the GPU from bouncing around and damaging the PCIx slot during shipment.  It's fairly new that they've started using it, but even the smaller, baseline GPUs are getting big enough to have to worry about these days.  No way would I be comfortable shipping a case with a 1070/1080 level card installed, it's just asking for UPS to destroy it.  Too much weight in the card with not enough support from the case when it starts getting bounced around.

dragotx, again I'm talking about the FIRST image she posted, where clearly the bag is stuck to the outside of the case side panel.

So am I.  Look at the picture again:  right side, the white is a reflection of something on the desk next to it, you can clearly see through the paper, and just to the right of where the black part of the case jogs down to the left you can see the printing on the bag is cut off by the case.  Plus, she responded with this a copule of posts down from her first post:

"No that's a reflection. No tape...It's somehow locked in there."

  • It isn't outside, that's a case window lol.

When I plug it in, it lights up a tiny bit, then turns off. Nothing moves, spins. I pressed both power buttons. It’s not hooked up to a monitor yet. Does that make a difference?

  • Check your RAM is seated and all the connections inside are firmly in place.

...good point.  Even with over time, RAM sticks can slip just enough out of position due to heating up and cooling.  I've had to reseat the sticks on occasion.

Definitely hook it up to a monitor, if it's having problems it may be giving an error on the bios loader.

I have no idea where the ram is. I’m a Mac person...

it's long and skinny, looks sort of like this:  https://i.ytimg.com/vi/OW3zMv9dPWw/maxresdefault.jpg ; If there are no error messages on the screen, turn off the computer before you mess with any of the components inside it.  Push the RAM straight towards the motherboard, if it is loose the white tabs on the side will click into place.  If they are all completely in line, then it's probably not loose.

I know others mentioned and God knows I know nothing about PCs either, I’m also a Mac person so I’m used to just press the only button *LOL*.

But since you didn’t mentioned doing it yet... did you pressed the tiny power supply switch in the back of the case? (Not the ON button in the front).

And make sure the power cable is firmly attached, I had the same issue with my render PC and it turned out it was just a bit loose.

You said you have not a monitor attached yet. My fans sound a bit when starting and then go silent, I notice it’s on because of the screen... and a little blue light in the power button which I don’t know if you have.

Well... if the problem is still real ... lets get some structure in it.

It would be helpfull if you post some images of the front, the back, and the other open side (not the side you posted before). Everything as it is now at the moment. Every wire and cable pluged in as it is now ...

It will make it much easyer to guide you through :-)

Wow, I totally missed that. The bag was inside the case. I could  have sworn it was just squished on the outside from sitting on the box. But now I see the squish was it plastered up against the glass.

Anyway, if you haven't solved the issue it sounds like you need to contact the folks who built it and ask them. Since you haven't any experience with PC builds I wouldn't mess with the internal wiring, because the motherboard and components are kinda fragile and you don't want to mess with it. Sounds like you have power to the unit if the lights went on briefly, so it's probably some internal issue that you should leave to the builder to resolve.

I hope Wonderland comes back and tells us what the issue was...I'm dying to hear. Seems strange something like that would happen.

Thanks everyone for trying! Waiting for NewEgg tech support to call me back!

..hmm, Newegg.  Never had an issue with them.  Then again I'm right up the coast from their HQ so even ground shipping gets to me quick.

I picked mine up, it was farther from LA than I thought though! It's huge! And I never had to open a computer before to remove packaging! And when I plug it in, it is just a faint light and nothing moves or happens...

Did turn the switch on to the power suply? Without it, you won't be able to get any power to anything. It won't start.

What? City of Industry, right? That's not far from LA.  smiley

Although traffic on the 60 freeway can get kinda crazy.

I'm guessing that Newegg tech support is absolutely swamped the week after Christmas. But at least you can bring the computer back there in person so they can get to it fairly quick. Good luck.
