I ran the 352.xx drivers for over a year because my Titan Z could not accept anything above that.
"The latest drivers" is not always "the solution", and very often is "the problem".
I just installed 388.71 (through the GeForce Experience app) for my 1080TI, opened Daz Studio and rendered successfully. No error occurred that you described.
Did you install it using the GeForce Experience app or Windows Update? I have heard that driver errors can occur if Windows Update installs the drivers.
Rendering is one thing, dForce is another. Have you run a dForce simulation on the 388.71 driver?
No. The OP stated the error occurred when DS opened. I'll try it later though.
Ok, I needed to rewatch the dForce video because I've only used dForce once before and it's been a few weeks.
I just finished a dforce simulation using the timeline, with no issues. In the Advanced tab of Simulation Settings my 1080TI was set as the OpenCL device.
G3F with the dForce Frey Healer Outfit. I got the following "OK to recompile?" message, but once I pressed Yes the compile process went smoothly and I was good to go. The simulation took just over 9 min. Might have been shorter but I chose "Best" for collision mode.
So for me, the latest 388.71 Nvidia driver is working with my 1080TI in Daz Studio 4.10.0.123 Pro Edition 64 bit. Hope it does for you both as well!
