I am a relative noob to Daz, so forgive me if this is spelled out somewhere and I missed it. How do you know when an item will be going off sale? Or do you? Some items seem to stay discounted for days, others a few hours, some a day. It is SO confusing here vs other sites where you know a date on when a certain item will be discounted for. I put stuff in my cart last night, forgot to buy, and now today its all back up to normal price. its really frustrating this "Buy now" mentality..

Yeah, we've asked. We've been told there are multiple reasons why it won't work.
That said, there are ways to make some educated guesses, but it requires checking a few pages.
Normally, they have different sales each day, and the sale with the banner closest to the "fast grab" banner is the one that will end next. But right now, they're doing their holiday sale and there are a bunch of non-sale related banners, so this method won't work for the moment.
On the holiday sale itself, things are rotated into and out of the "Best seller" categories every 3 days. Likewise, new items stay in the "still new" category for about 2-3 days (I haven't actually timed this one) and featured artists as well. New featured artists will be on top of old featured artists, so if there's something in a particular PA's store that you're interested in, get it before they drop off the bottom of the list (several PA's will make multiple appearances over the course of December)
There are also flash sales, but those are usually labeled as to how long they're on sale. At least the banner is labeled. The product pages are not.
On the other hand, know that there will always be another sale (thus the thread: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/217401/i-m-dreaming-of-a-store-wide-glitchmas-there-s-always-another-sale - which discusses current sales and glitches) so if you're patient anything you can't/don't get now will eventually be on sale again.
Thanks for the explanation, it will help me with my educated guessing..but like you said, everything will eventually be on sale again. It's just frustrating when from one day to the next, things can go back up.. :-(
Do you know what any of those reasons might be?
It's been a while. I know one reason was the programming to put the end date on the page was complicated by products having multiple sales affect them (plus the way the PC+ discount is displayed).
Basically, reasons why they aren't on the product pages came down to coding problems, while not having them on sales banners usually wasn't really explained, and sometimes known short sales will have dates and times on them - and people still didn't see them.
Thanks!
So in other words.....BUY NOW!!!!
Funny, I usually get some great deals with the buy now philosophy, but the other day I had 12 items in my cart at some really great (better than they should have been) prices. Then went to pick up the GF from the airport. Got back and the prices had changed and not for the better, DOH! Shouldn't have hesitated, LOL
